Getting to Banff
By air
Fly to Calgary International airport and take one of the shuttles to the Banff centre (estimated travel time: 1-2 hours). You must book the shuttle separately.
Fly to Vancouver International airport or Seattle (SEA-TAC), rent a car and drive through the mountains. Estimated travel time: 15 hours if you drive straight through. Or, take a bus from Vancouver.

From the east: take the TransCanada Highway (Highway 1) west from Calgary to Banff. Estimated travel time: 1-2 hours
From the west: take Highway 1 from Golden, BC to Banff
From the south: take Highway 95 (the Kootenay Highway), then take Highway 93 through Kootenay National Park to Hwy 1.
From the north: take Highway 93 (the Icefields Parkway) south from Jasper, through Lake Louise, then take Hwy 1 east to Banff.
By bus

Getting to the Banff Centre
The Banff Centre is on Tunnel Mountain road, half-way up Tunnel Mountain in Banff. For information about getting there, parking (if you have a car) and maps of the facilities, click here.
The Park Pass
If you drive to the Banff Centre, your parking is included. But, you need to buy a Parks Canada Pass for the time you are in the national parks area. When you enter the park area, you'll be able to purchase a pass.
